Manifesto

Technology that includes everyone.

The project combines local AI, portability and free access to expand learning opportunities, including in regions with limited connectivity.

01

Access

We believe access to artificial intelligence shouldn't depend on income, on an internet plan, or on where you live. AI For All exists to put cutting-edge technology within reach of anyone, anywhere, regardless of their economic situation or the quality of their connection.

02

Technology

At the heart of the project is a 3.2-billion-parameter Llama model, running entirely offline through the MultiCortex OS. There is no dependency on the cloud, on remote servers, or on a continuous connection: the intelligence runs locally, on the user's own machine.

03

Privacy

All processing happens 100% locally. No text typed, no question asked and no data generated ever leaves the user's machine. There is no data collection, no telemetry and no content is ever sent to third parties.

04

Inclusion

About 2.6 billion people worldwide still don't have internet access. AI For All was designed exactly for that scenario: an artificial intelligence that works without a network, helping close the gap between those who already use AI every day and those who never had that opportunity.

The project

How AI For All works in practice

Powered by a 3.2-billion-parameter Llama model and the MultiCortex operating system. It boots directly from a USB drive without uninstalling Windows.

Requirements

  • Computer from 2016 onward
  • Minimum of 8GB RAM
  • Intel processors (AMD support in development)

Compatibility depends on the hardware. Some computers may not boot or may run slowly.

Characteristics

  • Runs without uninstalling Windows
  • Works directly from a 4GB+ USB drive

How to use it

Boot your computer from the USB drive.

Once your drive is ready, follow these instructions. Boot menu shortcuts vary by manufacturer.

  1. 01

Connect the prepared USB drive to the computer while it is off.

  2. 02

Turn on the computer and open the boot menu. Some devices use Esc; others use F12, F9 or another manufacturer-specific key.

  3. 03

Select the USB drive or MultiCortex to boot.

  4. 04

The first boot may take approximately four to five minutes, depending on the computer.

  5. 05

If prompted, sign in using username tux and password linux, both in lowercase.

  6. 06

When finished, shut down normally and remove the USB drive. The original system should start on the next boot, provided the boot configuration was not changed.

USB boot may be disabled on corporate computers. Consult your IT administrator before changing boot settings.

Educational impact

Bringing technology into classrooms.

The Robotics, IoT and AI Laboratory at UTFPR, Ponta Grossa campus, uses AI For All to prepare elementary and secondary school classes for its outreach project.

“We use AI For All to prepare robotics, IoT and artificial intelligence classes — it runs straight from the USB drive, with no need for internet or installation in the labs, which makes day-to-day work with students much easier.”
